Methadone Maintenance
Methadone maintenance (MMT) involves
the continual administering and dispensing of Methadone at a relatively stable dosage
level, in conjunction with provision of appropriate social and medical services.
Realistically the only appropriate measure of time in treatment is how long it takes
the individual to overcome a life of narcotic addiction.
Counseling Services
We provide individual, group or family
counseling services which include:
·
Assessment
·
Treatment planning
·
Ongoing counseling based on individual needs
·
After care and discharge planning
We also will make referrals for
other services that the patient might need in the areas of medical treatment, job
training, legal assistance, financial assistance and Medicaid benefits.
Drug Testing
Urine drug screens are used as a
tool to provide clinical guidance in patient care. Specimen
collection procedures are conducted in a therapeutic and humane environment. Results
are used to monitor patient progress, to assist with the care of the patient and
to help in the creation/modification of the treatment plan.
Medically Supervised Withdrawal
When and if a patient feels ready to leave our program,
a medically supervised withdrawal will be arranged by the clinical team. The patient
is carefully assessed after each dosage reduction to be sure he/she is not having
any symptoms of opiate withdrawal. The patient has the right to discontinue the
withdrawal plan at any time.
